![]() ![]() These mods have all worked as desired, but, I'm still working towards my goal. So far, I've shielded the pickup and harness, changed the 500k pot for a 250k pot and clipped out the treble bleed. Also, it can be an expensive route ($160 CDN to start) to choose - I bought this guitar for $200 CDN! I want to keep it simple, frugal and with desired results this is a single pickup, one knob guitar. When you just change the pickup, you get what you get. So, I'm seeing what I can do, that is simple, practical and has results I can hear and quantify. I'm feeling that I want the same direction. One fellow found, by utilizing a low output, neck pickup, that worked best for him. ![]() ![]() Most of the previous posts about this guitar and the above situation, immediately suggest a pickup swap. I'm going for that fat, round and edgy, compressed P90 rock sound. Meaning that I don't want to knock it down too much, but, somewhat, kinda vintagey. So, I'm trying to tame the treble and 'drive' of the pickup, judiciously. I find that the guitar is 'really' bright, and the pickup is 'rather' hot. I'm trying to shape the guitar's signal output and tone, by working with what is onboard the guitar and basic mods. Hello, forum - I'm working on a 2011 PRS SE One, with the pickup in the title.
